Using our natural resources wisely in the short-term so there are resources available in the long-term.

We are a creative generation with loads of opportunities to shift, create, and renew. “Waste” has been a primary topic within our company. We have ongoing discussions on how to best utilize the “waste” from projects, and the possibility of it becoming a new usable product. This eco-sustainability mindset maximizes resources that have already been extracted from the earth, thereby decreasing the need to extract additional resources.

 Energy & Carbon

How is energy tied to water?

Energy is required to pump water to your property. For every gallon of water you save, you also save energy. We call this the “life cycle” of water. From capture to treatment to distribution, there is an inherent use of energy for every gallon of water that reaches you. Not only that, but water is needed to produce energy. Therefore, saving water, saves energy, which in-turn saves water which saves more energy. Get it?!

How is energy tied to carbon?

CO2 emissions result from energy use, but how much? For every 1 gallon of water to complete its “life cycle” it requires an average of 0.0037 kWh of energy. If you save 500,000 gallons of water, you save 1,850 kWh of energy. For every kWh of energy generated, there is an emission of 1 pound of carbon into our atmosphere. In summary, saving 500,000 gallons of water, saves 1,850 kWh of energy which in-turn prevents 1,850 pounds of unnecessary emissions from entering our atmosphere!
